The short version

1. Who we are

Acqlerate is a self-paced online academy for defense acquisition, contracting, finance, and program management. It's owned and operated by Acqlerate, LLC, a Florida limited liability company (document number L26000512427), mailing address 10005 Rosemary Leaf Lane, Riverview, FL 33578, USA. "We," "us," and "Acqlerate" in these terms mean Acqlerate, LLC.

Acqlerate used to be run by its founder, Lucas Cruz, as an individual. On October 8, 2026 it moved into Acqlerate, LLC, and your account, purchases, and certificates moved with it. For accounts created before that date, the new governing-law section (20) applies from October 22, 2026.

Acqlerate is private and independent. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or part of the Department of Defense (also called the Department of War), the Defense Acquisition University (DAU), or any government agency.

2. Agreeing to these terms

By creating an account, buying something, or using Acqlerate, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the service. That's the whole deal.

If you're buying or using Acqlerate for an organization (for example a Team Pack or a template pack for your company), you're confirming you're allowed to agree to these terms on its behalf.

3. Your account

4. What Acqlerate provides

Self-paced lessons, quizzes and assessments, a key terms library, daily challenges, weekly acquisition briefs, "The Debrief" audio episodes, the Acqlerate Coach and other AI study features, a FAR translator, the Cost & Burn Rate Tracker, certificates of completion, leaderboards, and downloadable template packs.

We're always improving the platform, so features will be added, changed, and occasionally retired. We won't take away the core course content you paid for.

For DoD users: Acqlerate is external training. You can self-report certificates as Continuous Learning Points (CLPs) in your component's training record system. Whether a particular agency, supervisor, or program office accepts or credits them is up to your organization and the DAU/DAWIA policy that applies to you. We can't guarantee it.

6. 14-day money-back guarantee

If Acqlerate isn't worth it to you, email hello@acqlerate.com within 14 days of your purchase and we'll refund it in full. No questions asked. This covers Annual Pro, Team, and every paid template pack.

If you're a consumer in the EU or UK, the law also gives you a 14-day right to withdraw from online purchases. Our 14-day guarantee covers the same period with no conditions, so you'll never need to rely on it, but it doesn't take any of your legal rights away.

7. Team

8. Template pack license

Our templates are built to be adapted, so this license is about who uses them, not how you edit them.

You can

You can't (without a team license from us)

Need them for more programs or your whole company? Email hello@acqlerate.com for a team license. Whatever you enter into the templates is yours.

Free packs (like the Defense Finance Cheat Sheets) can be used and shared freely inside your organization. Just don't sell them or pass them off as your own.

9. Referral program

10. Acceptable use

Use Acqlerate for your own learning and professional development. Please don't:

11. Your content

What you enter into Acqlerate (your onboarding answers, Cost & Burn Rate Tracker data, and anything you type into the AI features) stays yours. You give us permission to store and process it only as needed to run the service for you, as described in our Privacy Policy.

You're responsible for what you enter. Use made-up or publicly available figures for practice, not real program or company data you're not allowed to share.

12. AI features

The Acqlerate Coach (Explain My Mistake, How Do I Apply This?), the AI explain buttons, and the FAR translator use Anthropic's Claude models to write answers. AI can be wrong, oversimplify, or be out of date, even when it sounds confident. Teach It Back doesn't use AI, and its score is a study aid, not a certification or an assessment of your work. Treat its answers as a study aid, not legal, contracting, or financial advice, and check the actual FAR, DFARS, or your contracting officer before relying on anything. Daily limits depend on your plan.

13. Our content and brand

The lessons, quizzes, audio, graphics, templates, and everything else we created for Acqlerate belong to us, as do the Acqlerate name and logo. The FAR, DFARS, and other US government publications we reference are public domain. If you send us feedback or ideas, we're free to use them without owing you anything (though we'll gladly say thanks).

14. Certificates of completion

Certificates are generated automatically when you complete a module. They document your participation in self-paced external training. Acqlerate isn't an accredited institution, and certificates aren't academic credentials, so please don't present them as one.

15. Mobile apps

Our mobile apps are free and give you the same account and content as the website. If you use the iOS app, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. We, not Apple or Google, are responsible for the apps, their content, and support.

16. No guarantees about content

Acqlerate is provided "as is." We work hard to keep content accurate and current (including regulatory changes like FAR threshold updates and the FAR overhaul), but we can't promise every piece is error-free or up to date the moment you read it. Nothing on Acqlerate is legal advice. Don't make a consequential procurement decision based only on what you read here. Always check the official source.

17. Limits on our liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim related to Acqlerate is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, and we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses (like lost profits or a lost bid).

Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't legally be limited, such as for fraud, gross negligence, or intentional misconduct, or your rights as a consumer under the law of the country you live in.

18. Ending your account

You can delete your account any time from My Account, on the website or in the app. Deleting cancels any Monthly Pro subscription. It doesn't refund past payments, except under the guarantee.

We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms (for example account sharing, scraping, or fraud). Where it's reasonable, we'll warn you first and give you a chance to fix it. Accounts closed for breaking these terms don't get a refund.

19. Changes

We may update these terms as Acqlerate grows. When we do, we'll update the date at the top. For significant changes, we'll email account holders at least 14 days before they take effect. If you keep using Acqlerate after that, the new terms apply. If you don't like them, you can cancel or delete your account before they kick in.

20. Governing law and disputes

If there's a problem, email us first. Most things get sorted in a reply or two.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, and disputes go to the state or federal courts located in Hillsborough County, Florida. If you're a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in your local courts.
