PMI requires a minimum of 8 Education PDUs in each Talent Triangle category. Does Acqlerate need to be PMI-approved for me to claim PDUs?
No. PMI's "Education: Online or Digital Media" category does not require the provider to be a PMI Authorized Training Provider (ATP). ATP status is required for Instructor-Led Training PDU claims. Self-paced online learning is self-reported by the credential holder, so no provider registration number or pre-approval is needed.
How does PMI define 1 PDU?
One PDU equals one contact hour of qualifying professional development. For self-paced online learning, this is one hour of actual engagement with structured learning material: working through lessons, completing exercises, and taking assessments. Acqlerate's PDU values are based on conservatively measured module completion time.
What if PMI audits my self-reported PDUs?
PMI conducts periodic random audits. If audited, you'll need documentation showing the activity occurred. Your Acqlerate account dashboard shows module progress and completion dates, and that record serves as your audit documentation. Keep a personal log of completion dates and PDU amounts as a backup.
Can I claim PDUs for Acqlerate content completed before I got my PMP?
No. PDUs must be earned within your current 3-year certification cycle, which begins on your PMP exam pass date. Content completed before your certification date (or in a prior cycle) does not count toward your current renewal requirement.
Does DAU training also count as PMI PDUs?
Yes. DAU (Defense Acquisition University) online training qualifies under the same "Education: Online or Digital Media" self-reporting category. For DoD purposes, DAU completions are tracked in FAITAS; for PMI purposes, you log them separately in CCRS. Many defense PMs combine DAU completions with Acqlerate modules, which is an efficient way to clear the 35 Education PDU minimum without paying for a conference.
How many more PDUs do I need after completing all Acqlerate modules?
Acqlerate's full Pro curriculum earns roughly 44.2 PDUs, which is more than the 35 Education PDU minimum for a PMP renewal cycle. Two caveats worth knowing. PMI asks for at least 8 PDUs in each Talent Triangle area, and Acqlerate's Power Skills contribution is about 3.4, so you will want to pick up the remainder of that category elsewhere. And your renewal is 60 PDUs total, not 35, though up to 25 of those can be Giving Back PDUs from volunteering, mentoring, or creating content, which most active professionals accumulate without trying.
